Help Us Clean Up Our Beautiful Roads!
Want a great family thing to do on Saturday, April 23rd that will get everyone outside and also clean up all the litter on the sides of the roads?
Laura’s Legacy of Love and Kona Ice of York County are proud to sponsor this event, our first annual roadside cleanup in Alfred, but our 11th annual clean up in Southern Maine!

We will also have a free BBQ for those who help clean up to thank you and celebrate Earth Day! The BBQ will be from Noon-2pm with the location being worked out right now. Hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as drinks will be provided! We can also provide trash bags for those who need it! If working along the roadway, please wear bright clothes and do not pick up dangerous items like needles. We will have contact info for you if you come across anything like that.
The transfer station is open from 8am to 3:45pm on Saturday. Also, if you are unable to get the cleaned up trash to the transfer station, we can help with a trailer. This is a roadside clean up, not a household clean up, so please do not litter the roadways with stuff from your house.
Groups like cub scouts, girl scouts, etc are welcome to join and show some community pride.
